Dougald MacArthur, D.O.
Dr. MacArthur’s undergraduate degree was completed at Nova Southeastern University majoring in computer engineering. U.S. Navy flight training in Pensacola, Florida began immediately following completion of undergraduate school. He left naval aviation in 1993 to enter medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating in 1997. A rotating medical internship at Peninsula Hospital Center in Queens, New York was completed in 1998. Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine was entered in 1998 and completed in 2002. As an orthopedic resident he covered games and team practices for the Philadelphia 76er’s basketball team. While training in Philadelphia Dr. MacArthur had the opportunity to train with some of the world’s most influential names in joint replacement surgery. Since leaving training in Philadelphia, Dr. MacArthur has pursued further training with the Zimmer Institute in minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery. He was the first orthopedic surgeon in the state of New Hampshire trained in the minimally invasive quadriceps sparing knee replacement technique. He is currently participating in a study with the Zimmer Corporation and Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago tracking outcomes of minimally invasive knee replacement surgery.
Dr. MacArthur is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and New Hampshire Orthopedic Society.
