While completing his MBA, Scott became inspired to research quality-control concepts as they apply to health care administration. After basing his graduate thesis on the long-standing research of W. Edward Deming’s statistical process control, Scott’s academic interest expanded to the concepts and practices of the widely utilized Six Sigma. Scott attended Villanova University to complete his didactic training in Six Sigma. His Six Sigma residency and project were completed while working at the Industrial Medicine and Rehabilitation Division of the Cummins Engine plant in Lakewood, NY.

Scott is currently a candidate for a PhD in health care administration. He has completed the didactic coursework and he has completed the comprehensive examination. Scott’s current research and dissertation is focused on evaluating patient satisfaction and how it affects financial performance within health care organizations.

Scott is quoted as saying: “I have spent years experiencing health care as a clinician, an academic, and as an administrator. These three vantages have given me a perspective on health care administration that has landed me deeply interested in customer service and quality control. I feel that patients expect nothing less than first class service from their health care providers, and we at The Alpine Clinic have the resources and passionate commitment to deliver world-class health care services to our patients.”
