In December, 2009, Dr. Chen travelled to Ramsau, Austria with the United States Nordic Combined Ski Team. During three days of competition, four-time Olympian and current World Champion Todd Lodwick placed in the top 10 on all three days. Three-time Olympian and 2009 World Champion Billy Demong placed in the top 10 in the first two competitions, and in the top 15 in the third race. Two-time Olympain Johnny Spillane also placed in the top 10 in the first two competitions and in the top 15 in the third race after a disappointing misstep and fall in the final hill-climb. Olympian Brett Camerota had his first ever top 10 finish in the Ski Jump, and skied to his first top 20 finish ever. Olympic hopeful Brian Fletcher demonstrated excellent resolve as an upcoming athlete early in his World Cup career. Dr. Chen treated athletes for minor injuries, and was instrumental in helping Billy Demong return to full level of competition.

The Alpine Clinic began seeing patients at its new medical office building in Franconia on November 2nd. There has been an overwhelming response of congratulations from almost everyone who walks in the doors. From patients, to family and friends, it is clear that The Alpine Clinic prides itself on quality, service, and development.
For almost two years, Drs. O’Neill, Chen, and MacArthur have been making their dream a reality to build a flagship medical office building where they can provide their patients with all the conveniences of a modern orthopaedic medical practice, and where they can house a central location for their ongoing clinical research. The new medical office building will facilitate The Alpine Clinic’s goals of becoming New England’s premier provider of orthopaedic services, and to continue their ongoing pursuit of scholarship, research, and evidence based practice.
Additionally, The Alpine Clinic is pleased to announce that it is leasing a section of their new building to PainCare, which is a very successful and well established pain management practice with several locations in southern New Hampshire. Dr. Michael O’Connell, the owner of PainCare, has recognized that residents of Northern New Hampshire deserve to have access to the expertise and quality of an elite pain management practice. He is proud to announce the expansion of his practice to Plymouth and Franconia. For more information on PainCare, please see their website- www.painmd.com

Dr. O’Neill and his assistant Mia (Simone) Whalley will be traveling to Durham to meet with a new group of students that have been accepted into the Athletic Training program at UNH. This will be their 3rd year presenting to this eager group of students.
Not only will they provide a PowerPoint presentation on knee injuries, but they will also offer a hands-on clinic on how to diagnose knee injuries. Athletic Trainers are usually the first on the field during an athlete’s injury, so the proper education on how to examine these athletes is essential.
This year Dr. O’Neill is proud to show off his newly published book KNEE SURGERY: The Essential Guide to Total Knee Recovery, which was published just one month after his presentation with the students last year.
